ARTIST STATEMENT
My painting arises intuitively. At its centre are people, their presence and the stories that do not reveal themselves at first glance.
I combine the figurative with abstract forms, colour and line. It is not my aim to tell a story in full. My paintings deliberately leave something open – they are meant to spark curiosity, trigger thoughts and leave room for one's own perception.
BIOGRAPHY
MO MORI lives and works in Berlin. Her painting moves between figurative representation and free, abstract elements. Female figures are often at its centre – present, self-possessed and not tied to any single story.
In her work she combines oil painting with a direct, intuitive approach. Colour, line and surface are allowed to overlap, shift and even contradict one another. It is exactly where control and chance meet that the moments defining her paintings emerge.
Her Berlin atelier is not only a workspace but the starting point of her artistic practice – a place where paintings grow, change and sometimes take a completely different direction than originally intended.
